It becomes possible to see soft tissues through the x-ray. Contrast media is put in the body. Contract media is a liquid that better absorb x-rays than plain soft tissue. Barium is swallowed to that the systems can absorb x-rays the media is injected in the body so that they systems are visible. Lung cancers can be diagnosed using this procedure along with other types of cancer.
